Become a Member of Our Volunteer Team

Prospective Volunteer Team members must :complete an application, attend orientation, and complete 25 hours of service. To become an ASH volunteer, contact Debbie Trammell at 512-419-2323

Develop one-to-one relationships with the patients

Assist therapists with games, art projects, music therapy, and art therapy

Co-facilitate ward meetings or group therapies

Assist patients with letter writing

Help teachers with educational programs and tutor patients

Design promotional materials and create flyers for special events

Write grants

Co-facilitate spirituality groups and participate in worship services on campus

Conduct client satisfaction surveys

Assist with lesson planning for the children’s unit

Process books, videos, audio cassettes, and CDs for Library

Write news releases and public service announcements

Speak on behalf of the Hospital to other community groups such as the media

Help with the production of Hospital and Volunteer Services Council newsletters
